"SPECIALIZED KINESIOLOGY"

In the Summer issue of HeartBeat magazine, The Empress Bridge Kinesiology College provided a two page outline on the exciting marriage that could be made between kinesiology and metaphysics.

As a follow-up, in this issue several courses and programs on specialized kinesiology will be described in order to meet the needs of varying student interest. Whether you're new to kinesiology, have already taken a class or are interested in taking advanced training in order to develop your own holistic career, there's sure to be a class that will jump-start your interest in learning more about this exciting modality!

Tibetan Energy - one weekend working with a partner will teach you the basic steps of accurate muscle testing and give you a variety of techniques to effectively work with others to release pain in muscles and joints, speed the recovery time of sprains or broken bones, increase energy, alertness and vitality, and strengthen the entire energy field around the body.

Enhancing Your Energy (BKP101)- this six week evening class is a must for anyone wanting to keep themselves centered and focused in the present time as well as learn practical and effective ways to release the effects of stress on their body. You will learn how to work with the wisdom of the Chinese meridian system to effectively look after your own health and well being by strengthening your energy field to more effectively cope with life's challenges. (This is the first class taught in the Basic Kinesiology Certificate Program and can be taken separately without the need to register for the full program.)

Brain Gym 101 - a two weekend class (24 hours) that is being taught in over 60 countries using simple movements and activities to improve mind/body integration. Effective for reading, writing, comprehension, memory, focus, creativity, sports, music, co-ordination, stress release, and insomnia. Improves ability to function better in any area of life! This class is the first in a series and forms part of a larger program called Educational Kinesiology for those interested in career training. (see www.braingym.org)

Specialized Kinesiology - There are four weekends or approximately 64 hours required to learn the basics of Chinese Medicine and the art of accurate muscle testing with a partner. In order to effectively balance a person's meridian system and keep the body in a state of vitality and health, a variety of different methods are taught as part of the balancing procedures including work with neuro-lymphatic and neuro-vascular points, fourteen meridians that relate to the major organs and glands in the body, 42 different muscles and techniques that work with colour, sound and advanced pain reduction. A certificate will be given on succsssful completion from The Canadian Association of Specialized Kinesiology. (see www.canask.org)

Elemental Kinesiology Program - This involves an exciting mixture of specialized kinesiology, plus techniques that work to balance the chakra system including the use of essential oils and flower essences. A major difference with this program is the addition of the Sacred Element series - a system that involves understanding and working with the elements of fire/earth/air/water as they relate to a person's physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body. The program which involves 160 hours of training (one weekend a month for twelve months) also includes two weekends of learning how to give a complete spiritual massage in which you learn how to bring the subtle energy bodies into alignment with the physical. A step-by-step procedure to assist others through their own healing process is the aim of this program. A certificate will be given on successful completion from The Empress Bridge Kinesiology College.

Basic Kinesiology Certificate Program - This program forms the first part of a four-year part-time dimploma program and would suit the needs of the more professional student. Comparable to more traditional university credit courses, this program in addition to 160 hours of class time requires that students spend sufficient time outside of class completing assignments and practicing on others. The purpose of this course is to train good quality kinesiology practitioners to effectively identify and correct a variety of energy imbalances in the body most of which work with pain release and emotional healing. A certificate will be given upon successful completion from the International College of Professional Kinesiology Practice based in New Zealand. (see www.icpkp.com)
