Specialized Kinesiology (Touch for Health) - Levels I through IV
Discover the basic foundation of muscle testing and balancing techniques that have been taught around the world for over forty years. Touch for Health ws put together by the late Dr. John Thie and forms the foundation for all other types of (applied) kinesiology being taught today.
Touch for Health forms a part of a 2-year Diploma Course in Holistic Health currently being taught at Grant MacEwan College and is being made available through The Empress Bridge College at this time to students who would like to take the training without committing to a 2-Year Program. On completion of Levels I, II, III and IV, students will complete a practicum and receive a certficate from the Canadian Association of Specialized Kinesiology (CanASK) located in British Columbia. Visit the CanASK website www.canask.org for more information. Also worthy of note is the fact that Touch for Health is on the list of approved modalities for insurance purposes with the National Health Practitioners of Canada (N.H.P.C.).
LEVEL I: Learn how to test and correct fourteen muscles that relate to the Chinese Meridian
system - each test corresponding to one of the major organs and glands in the body. You will
learn how to release pain, defuse emotional stress, identify food sensitivities, and increase
your overall energy and vitality. You will leave this class with the ability to accurately
check muscle responses of your family, friends and clients.
LEVEL II: Learn how to test and strengthen an additional 14 muscles, work with charts to find
the priority energy blockage needing correction, identify emotions, find over-energy in the
body, work with specific muscles to release back pain, use acupressure holding points, doa Time
of Day balance, work with life goals and more.
LEVEL III: Learn how to test and strengthen another 14 muscles, carry out a 5-Element balance,
work with the pulses and pain tapping, test and correct gait imbalances that can cause headaches and
chronic tiredness, work with upper back, lower back, and knees with more advanced reactive muscle
techniques, as well as do a 5-Element Colour balance.
LEVEL IV: Review techniques from previous classes, work with Tibetan energy flows, learn to
balance the body with sound, learn acupressure holding points in depth, learn postural stress
release, luo points, and learn how to put it all together into a full energy balancing session
on another person.
Please Note:
* All Touch For Health handouts are included with each Level. The Touch For Health Manual is a required
purchase. It covers all four levels and is not included in the course fee as many students have
already purchased this book prior to taking a class. The book will be available to purchase in class for those
who do not already have it.
* Each student will be required to do a 5-Element balance on another person on completion of Level IV as
their practical test. Following this, they will receive a certificate from CANASK (Canadian Association
of Specialized Kinesiology) for which an additional fee is charged.
These classes are a good place for anyone to start learning about kinesiology. Massage or
holistic practitioners can learn to enhance their work with their clients and mothers can learn how
to do 'balances' to keep their family healthy.
